Description
Lupron tablet is a preparation of Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride. Levocetirizine is the active (levo) isomer of cetirizine. It is a new, highly effective and well-tolerated non-sedating antihistamine with potent antiallergic properties. It has a two-fold higher affinity for H1 receptors than Cetrizine. Levocetirizine has a rapid and long-lasting action, allowing once-a-day administration.
Indication
Treatment of symptoms associated with allergic conditions such as seasonal allergic rhinitis, perennial allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria.
Dosage & Administration
Lupron should be taken as a single daily dose with or without food.
Adults and children over 6 years of age: one Lupron 5 mg tablet once daily. Dose adjustment is indicated in moderate or severe renal impairment. A reduction in the dose of Lupron by 50% should be considered in patients with moderate to severe renal dysfunction.
Side Effect
Generally Levocetirizine is well tolerated. However, a few side effects like headache, dry mouth, fatigue and skin rash have been reported rarely.

Contraindications
Lupron is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to this medication or to any of its ingredients.
Drug Interaction
No clinically important drug interactions have been reported.
Storage
Store in a dry, cool place and also keep away from light.
