Description

Timovis (Tiemonium Methylsulphate) is a quarternary ammonium antimuscarinic agent with spasmolytic and parasympatholytic effects and is used in the relief of visceral pain.

Indication

Timovis (Tiemonium Methylsulphate) is used in the treatment of pain related to functional disorders of the digestive tract, biliary system, bladder and uterus. Timovis (Tiemonium Methylsulphate)  is indicated for the pain in gastrointestinal, biliary, urinary and gynaecological disease such as gastroenteritis, diarrhoea, dysentery, biliary colic, enterocolitis, colonopathies, mild cystitis & spasmodic dysmenorrhoea.

Dosage & Administration

Recommended oral dose of Timovis (Tiemonium Methylsulphate) tablet is 2-6 tablets (100-300 mg) daily in divided dosage as required.

Precautions

Caution should be taken in cases of chronic bronchitis, coronary insufficiency, ambient hyperthermia, renal insufficiency, hepatic insufficiency, pregnancy and lactation.

The effect of Timovis (Tiemonium Methylsulphate) may be enhanced by concomitant administration of other drugs with antimuscarinic properties such as Amantadine, Antihistamines, Tricyclic Antidepressants, Phenothiazines & Butyrophenones.
